Red White and Blue

What a great time of year to see this quilt.  We are ready for a national election and our voting is a celebration of the Red, White and Blue.

bicentennial Quilt designed by the maker

I am attending the Am Quilt Study seminar in Lincoln NB.  It is always a treat and this year it is at the home of the American Quilt Museum.  Last night we visited the current displays.  One is on signature quilts.  The above one has famous signatures and was made in preparation of our bicentennial.

Ronald Reagan yet to become our president

The maker sent out 200 letters asking for signatures and provided a piece of fabric.

An entertainer whom we just said good-bye to

In return she received 150 signatures of famous persons

The maker embroidered over each of the signatures

Mina Kuthe outside her home with her quilt.

Whether you are a famous person or an ordinary one doing extraordinary things, as Mina Kuthe of Maywood, IL,  YOU get to help select our next president!  May I encourage you to get informed and then get out and vote!

Mina’s quilt may be seen at the American Quilt Museum in Lincoln, NB.
